Hidden Beautiful Courtyard

One of my favorite places to go in Lyon was to the “hidden” courtyard in the Musée des Beaux Arts.

If you look out of the courtyard, you see out onto the Place des Terreaux. This is to be expected, as the museum’s entrance is just off of this square.

But once you go in, the courtyard is a little haven of quietness in the middle of the city.

The architecture is pretty cool.

The courtyard is filled with Rodin sculptures.

These people were just so summery. Look at what they were wearing!

The children were so pretty!

I think it’s both a shame and a blessing that this place isn’t more known. It’s such a beautiful place, but if more people knew, it’d be overrun! Still though, I recommend you stop by. The art in the museum is all right. But the courtyard is simply the best.

Ou la la – my favorite photos here so far. Especially the second. Love the hidden aspect it evokes.

je suis d’accord avec toi!! cette cour est vraiment très agréable mais je suis contente qu’elle soit peu connue car c’est pour ça qu’elle est si calme =)

beautiful! I was only there for 2 days so didn’t get to explore the parks. I did love Notre Dame though 🙂
It wasn’t at the top of my list of places to visit but when I did go to Lyon I was so glad that I did. Were you there for long?
